Last 10 Nights Ramadhan Giving: Don’t Leave Your Reward to Chance

Last 10 nights Ramadhan

The last ten nights of Ramadhan are not like the rest of the year. They carry a quiet weight in the heart of a believer — a sense that something incredibly precious is near. Among these nights is Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Decree, a night Allah describes with extraordinary words:

“The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.”
(Qur’an 97:3)

Think about that for a moment.
One night of sincere worship and good deeds can carry the reward of more than 83 years.

A lifetime of reward… placed within a single night.

Naturally, many of us feel the urge to give more charity during these final nights of Ramadhan. We tell ourselves: “When the last ten nights come, I’ll give more.” And the intention is sincere.

But when those nights actually arrive, reality can look different.

We are tired after a full month of fasting. Work responsibilities don’t slow down. Family commitments grow. Life in a fast-moving place like Singapore continues at its usual pace.

Before we know it, the nights pass faster than we expected.

This is why planning our giving for the last ten nights of Ramadhan matters.

Good intentions are beautiful. But preparation helps those intentions become real action.

Instead of trying to figure things out each night, it helps to set aside your charity beforehand. When your giving is planned, your heart becomes free to focus on worship, dua, and reflection.

Even if you miss a night due to exhaustion or responsibilities, your charity can still continue.

And consistency carries its own special value.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they are small.”
(Sahih Bukhari 6464)

Small deeds, done steadily, can become enormous in the sight of Allah.

So how can we approach our charity during the last ten nights in a thoughtful way?

You might start by setting aside a specific amount purely for these final nights. Then divide it across all ten nights so that every night carries your charity. Some people choose to automate their giving so that even if they forget or become busy, their sadaqah still continues.

You can also include waqaf or long-term charitable contributions — acts that continue benefiting people long after Ramadhan ends, and continue rewarding you as well.

When giving is intentional, it becomes more meaningful.
When it is consistent, it grows in reward.

No one knows exactly which night Laylatul Qadr will fall on. It may be one of the odd nights — the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, or 29th — but the exact night is hidden.

And perhaps that is part of its wisdom.

When we spread our charity across all ten nights, it is as if our sadaqah is searching for Laylatul Qadr on our behalf.

Ramadhan passes quickly.
Opportunities like these come only once a year.
And the rewards Allah promises are beyond measure.

So prepare your charity for the last ten nights of Ramadhan now — and let your giving continue, even while you rest.

Because sometimes the smallest act of giving, done at the right moment, can carry the reward of a lifetime.
